The taboo topic at the dinner table, such as political views and religion, these thing's are not discussions for the dinner table why you ask, to controversial they'd cause disagreements and bad indigestion. So please if you want to discuss art don't do it at the dinner table, this is the place.

The Knowledge Of Man Versus Art
The knowledge of man versus art is to me a very compelling subject to which is truly self evident in this particular piece...
Art has been influential in all aspects of man, everything from design to science and interior decorating, from the caves to our homes of today, conveying images and illustrating the evolution of man's creative knowledge!

Painting Above Canal Day & Night
Painting Above The Canal, Day & Night
When Patrick John Mills invited me to paint on the Mackenzie King Bridge in our Nations Capital Of Ottawa Ont Canada, I responded with YES!
It was a challenge of great proportions, to which we met head on, for it was the Month of March.
Man, paint and nature what a combination! Time to form a friendship and create with the energy of emotions, to which we fed of of each other.
Painting day and night was very physically and mentally challenging as the weather conditions changed from one minute to the next...
Here are a few samples of the work I have completed!

The Tulips Are In Bloom
The Tulips Are In Bloom and spring is in the air despite what (Mother Nature) has had in-store for us this week.
Our National Capital area is in full bloom for the annual Tulip Festival and to coincide with the festival Maxwell's Gallery is playing host to a group exhibit by local talented artists.
The exhibit is a vibrant array of images with colors that compliment the season and tantalizes the senses of the viewer with thoughts of beauty and song. A must see event for any art lover.
Here is a sample of the images in the exhibit!

The March Painting Marathon 2013
The Month was a successful month of ups and downs, a month of fun with experiences of friendship and support in every respect imaginable!
I was so thrilled when Patrick John Mills invited me to join him on this journey of exploration of weather versus man and paint, by painting the view of the Canal over and over again during the month of March.
As we painted we were in a mode of mixed emotions for each day brought a new beginning.
The cold wind, snow, rain and shine or dark of night could not stop us we were two men on a mission to document the changes of the month and the affects it had on us as well as on the canal as a whole.
Love everyone for all their support during the month greatly appreciated!
Patrick S. Greene
P.S. Special thanks to my friend and fellow painter, Patrick John Mills.

Yesterday was day 5 of "MARCH PAINTING MARATHON"
I had arrived at the bridge over the Rideau Canal facing north, towards the Canal, Chateau Laurier Hotel and the Parliament Buildings at around 4pm and worked until 11pm.
I think it really was the most exhausted day so far since the start of the month. I seemed to be in a state of painting madness, but in a very controlled manner, I was like a god who owned the bridge and sight I was focused on. It seemed after my struggle with the first small canvas of the day I had finally got it, nothing could stop me and nothing seemed to be wrong. It was a moment of rare creative inspiration that comes very seldom in an artist's life!
I was on fire, even though the skies changed so rapidly, creating a state of rapid changes to each and every moment. At approximately 8pm when Patrick John Mills and Marc Casult arrived I had unbelievably competed three small paintings and was working on a fourth, I finished 5 paintings and started a six's when I had to call it quits for the night!

March Painting Marathon Day 3 & 4
After a long day of painting on site at the Rideau Canal, in Ottawa,
we later that night set our sights on going back to the Mackenzie King Bridge to paint the Canal in the dark!
The moment was a sight to be hold, but we were up for the challenge with both myself and Patrick John Mills worked until the wee hours of the morning.
Despite being totally drained we both left the Canal with a sense of absolute joy and disbelief, that we had done so much in one 24 hour period!
The beauty of the silence of the night and the dancing of the lights will definitely leave a lasting impression
in our minds for ever as a time when everything seemed to stand still except time itself!
Here is the painting I completed on that mid morning on March 3,4th 2013
Title: Midnight on The Canal
Medium: Acrylic on Board
Size: 48" x 24"
Price: $1200.00
Completed: 2013

Painting on Location
Painting on Location
Painting on location is an opportunity that should not be ignored for it is one of the best learning tool for an artist!
First of all, not to mention the health benefits of being outdoors. Painting on location is a tool I believe helps the artist to deal with various subject matter as well as conditions you would not have to deal with in a studio environment, as an artist I have witnessed first hand that the environment can change in an instant, therefore forcing the artist to paint very quickly but with control.
I could go on and on about this subject matter, but it would make for a boring topic of discussion for anyone whom has not experienced painting on location.
